Fast Loading PDF Viewer for Ubuntu Linux – ePDFview

The document reader that comes with Ubuntu loads fast, has a clean interface and doesn’t use a lot of system resources to run. But sometimes depending on your PDF file Evince too can use a reasonable amount from your RAM while running too. It’s already highly simplified but if you’re willing to let go of few other options then there are other more lightweight PDF viewers that you can. Some don’t look that good but hey they get the job done ;-). So if you’re interested,

such a PDF viewer that is known for its speed that might get you interested.Main features…*. This is very similar to Evince and doesn’t give you a settings page where you can tweak things (you can change the web browser for opening URLs in PDF documents and that’s it!).*. Clean UI with a singe tool-bar that contains the standard tools such as: Next/Previous page, Zoom in/out, enter a page number manually, full screen view, a text selector etc.*. Rotate pages Right & Left.*. Save as a copy.*. Show the PDF “index” to your left (which can be disabled) for easy navigation.*. Search for text.*. Send to Print.*. Well, I think that’s pretty much it for the ePDFViewer. You can install ePDFViewer in Ubuntu 12.04, 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot, 11.04 Natty Narwhal, 10.10 and 10.04 by using the below command in your Terminal window.sudo apt-get install epdfviewYep, that should do it!.As you can see, it won’t give you a lot of features, but if both speed and being lightweight are more important factors to you, then “ePDFView” will come in handy :).Related Posts
