Simple Batch Image Resizer for Ubuntu Linux & Windows – “sir”

These days finding a batch image resizer is easy. If you want a powerful one . But if you don’t want a lot of features and quite happy with a simple tool with decent amount of features,

also a pretty useful utility. It supports both GNU/Linux and MS Windows platforms and thanks to the PPA provided by the developer, you can easily install it in Ubuntu. Some of its main features  …*. It’s a KDE oriented app. Written in Qt and C++.*. You can add individual or folders containing images for batch conversions.*. Change output folder.*. Change image Height, Width and aspect ratio.*. Rotate images.*. Remove images from the list.*. Supports a huge number of output formats () such as: JPEG, JPG, PCX, PNG, SGI, TGA, PIC, PPM etc.Built in Image viewer …*. Automatically

(can be disabled via its “Settings” window). That’s pretty much “sir” I think :). You can install “sir” in Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot, 11.04 Natty Narwhal, 10.10 and 10.04 (plus few other older Ubuntu versions) by simply adding its PPA.For that open your Terminal and enter the below commands.sudo apt-add-repository ppa:rsachetto/ppasudo apt-get updatesudo apt-get install sirFor the RAW support you need to have to install a package called “dcraw”. But I think recent versions of Ubuntu comes it installed by default. If however it’s not installed, then simply open your Terminal again and enter the below command to install that as well.sudo apt-get install dcrawThat it!.Related Posts
