The holiday season is just around the corner and gamers from all around the world are hoping for different price drops in game consoles. The PS3 denied such claims but also hinted to that being a possibility. The Nintendo Wii does not really need a price cut so the last console to really consider is Microsoft’s Xbox 360. Well, gamers from all around the world might be disappointed at finding out that there will not be a price drop. On the other hand, the Xbox 360 will come with Marvel and Forza 2 this holiday season.
It is well known that the manufacturing costs of the Xbox 360 dropped a little after moving to the 65 nm CPU platform. This should bring a cheaper price but it looks like Microsoft will stick with the price until the end of the year.
There was an event that caused gamers to wonder though. On Best Buy’s online store we got a chance to see Forza Motorsport 2 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance bundled with the Xbox 360 Elite and the Xbox 360 premium. The price was the same as with only purchasing the consoles. This hinted to the probable holiday package deal. This bundle practice is very common in Canada but has not been a reality in USA. With the holiday season right around the corner, we could be expecting bundle packages for Xbox 360 game consoles.
Whether or not we are going to see this, Microsoft needs to do something. They must either drop the price of the Xbox 360 or add games to the packages because it is well known that a lot of sales can be generated during this time of the year. The Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 3 consoles are surely going to come up with some kind of offers so it will be interesting to see the Xbox 360 as well.
